INJURY PREVENTION SCREEN ASSESSMENT
The test has been designed for youth athletes aged 5-17 years old and takes 30 minutes.
Sourced from academic literature, the assessment has a combination of 5 functional movement tests that reveal the following:

Highlights lower body physical risk factors
Predicts stage maturation
Predicts phase maturation
Predicts athlete's adult height

From the assessment, a readiness to play sports report will be created and the numerical values will indicate the youth athlete's true readiness to participate in sport.
TRAINING BLOCKS
What To Expect
Before a training block can start, each YSIP athlete will receive the injury prevention screening assessment. From the assessment, a personalised 6-week training programme will be created by one of our YSIP injury prevention specialists. The programme will focus on the physical risk factors revealed from the assessment, the stage and maturation and any other risk factors detected during the enrollment phase. The training block will last 7-weeks (including the assessment weeks) and the parent can choose the type of training (e.g., small group or 1-1 training), as well as the frequency (e.g., 2-4 times per week).

The small group training will consist of a maximum of 8 youth athletes per class and the 1-1 class will be with one of your injury prevention specialists. Once the 6-week programme has been delivered, the athletes will be assessed using the same screening assessment to see what has been improved upon and what still needs to be worked on. Based on this data the athlete may be invited back to train in a YSIP programme. If the athlete has not been invited back it means they have achieved a perfect score and no longer need the injury prevention service. Instead, they will be given a maintenance programme to take into their sport with the recommendation to come back for a screening assessment every 6 months until the age of 18.
